My client is looking for an experienced Engineering Superintendent to join their team in Clyde to manage the technical aspects of their vessel operations.

suitable candidates must have a class 1 (motor) CoC

Thorough knowledge of ISM and ISO 9000.

Duties and Responsibilities:

he key purpose of the role is as follows:-/p>

  • To be responsible for the technical management, maintenance and compliance with regulatory standards of assigned vessels within the DE&S Contract.
  • Liaise closely with the Operations Department to maximise vessel availability to the customer and facilitate Contract delivery.
  • Day to day management of delegated technical budget.
  • Day to day oversight of assigned vessel crews and engineering staff.
  • To prepare, plan and manage vessel dry-dockings and afloat repairs maintaining regulatory compliance.

Customers:

  • Delivering maximum vessel availability to Contract Managers
  • Conducting and reporting of routine vessel inspections to ensure Safety and Material standards are maintained.
  • Forming part of the Engineering out of hours -on call" duty roster as required.

People & Culture:

  • Ensuring that all activities are undertaken in a safe environment and are fully compliant with MCA.
  • Point of contact for day to day management, mentoring and guidance of afloat engineering staff.
  • Ensuring all activities are undertaken in alignment with corporate policy, Contract needs and business strategy.

Financial:

  • Monitoring and control of expenditure for assigned vessels against delegated budgets and timely reporting of anticipated variances.
  • Seeking best value for expenditure at all times.
  • Providing SME input and supporting the Technical Manager in formulation of budgets and financial forecasts.
Experience required: extensive knowledge of ISM Code and ISO 9000. Knowledge and experience of Class and Flag Authorities and regulations. Experience and Competency in IT systems and office applications. Extensive commercial relevant sea-going experience at a senior level in the commercial marine industry. extensive engineering and technical knowledge and experience.
Qualifications required: Qualified to class 1 (Motor) CoC level.

Work Experience Requirements
