Technical Superintendent (LNG) – Permanent – Newcastle – Competitive salary plus benefits

A reputable shipping organisation based in Newcastle are currently recruiting for an LNG Technical Superintendent to join their expanding team.

Responsibilities will include:

• Anticipate and drive safe and flawless performance of assigned vessels
• Development of vessel-operating budgets
• Working on longer-term projects for example planned maintenance systems and capital projects; Dry Docks and major repairs
• Providing support in all aspects of ship operations
• Carry out regular risk reviews for vessel operations and ensure appropriate actions are taken
• Analysing the nature and root cause of any serious breakdown or damages
• Review monthly OPEX costs against budget & report on any deviations
• Coach and develop Masters, Chief Engineers and direct reports ashore

Experience / Qualifications Required:

• Have sailed up to Chief Engineer on LNG Carriers and have a deep understanding of technical operations for the vessel types managed.
• Ideally hold a Class one Chief Engineer Unlimited CoC
• Ideally have DFDE and/or MEGI LNG experience
• Previous shore based experience as Superintendent is preferred
