We’re proud to represent a world-renowned ferry company seeking an experienced Engine Rating to join their engineering team on a full-time, permanent basis.

Key Responsibilities

As an Engine Rating, you will:

• Assist the Chief and Second Engineer with planned maintenance and repair work.
• Carry out engine room watchkeeping duties as directed.
• Undertake cleaning, painting, greasing, and general engine room maintenance.
• Conduct fire and safety patrols within the engine spaces, reporting any defects or hazards.
• Support the maintenance and testing of firefighting, safety, and lifesaving equipment.
• Participate in all statutory drills and exercises in accordance with the vessel’s emergency organisation.
• Follow company Safety Management Systems (SMS) and operational procedures.
• Take an active interest in duties above your rank to support professional development and readiness to step up when required.

Requirements

To be considered for this position, you must hold:

Engine Watch Rating Certificate (III/4) or Able Seafarer Engine Certificate of Competency (III/5)

STCW Basic Training, including Proficiency in Survival Craft & Rescue Boats (PSCRB)

Valid ENG1 medical certificate

Proven experience working onboard passenger or ferry vessels (preferred)

Full right to work and reside in the United Kingdom

Fluent English communication skills
