We are looking for a Baker/Pastry Chef to join on 24/08/2024

Baker/Pastry Chef is working the night shifts alone. The vessel would prefer someone with stronger Pastry Skills but who can also bake breads

Scope of duties/responsibilities/competencies
Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Plans and prepares all baked goods: breads for passengers and crew meals, breakfast pastries, tea cakes, birthday cakes and table decorations as directed
  • Maintains Baker’s provisions and ordering as necessary in co-operation with the Chef de Cuisine
  • Must keep a schedule that allows for early preparation of fresh breakfast rolls & pastries
  • As the Baker is somewhat independent, he must ensure the galley is clean before the next day shift comes on duty
  • Stick to the serving of all products in regards to the regulations of the HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point)
  • Ensures the Company policies and Garbage Management Plan are obeyed

Required qualification

  • All certificates and licenses or required by STCW and MLC 2006 for this position needed
  • Baker’s diploma or equivalent certification and 2-4 years experience
  • Chef’s Apprenticeship acceptable if they have specialized in Baking & Pastry making
