Technical Specialist (ETO) – Permanent – Remote UK – Competitive package
This is an excellent opportunity to join a reputable vessel owner and a true leader in their field.
The role can be based anywhere in the UK as long as you live close to one of the companies many port offices around the UK. Must also be happy to commute to other UK ports.
The Technical Specialist provides hands-on electro technical services to vessels throughout the UK, which will involve travelling to various ports. This role is a support function to their vessels and therefore alternative hours may be needed due to shipping requirements. Technical Specialist (ETO) will also offer expertise in the form of remote support, monitor all onboard electric and electronic equipment, thereby maximising the operational safety and efficiency of the vessels.
Responsibilities include:
- Maintain the electrical and electronic equipment onboard the UK vessels by supporting repairs, modifications, project and docking work to the vessels equipment.
- To give impartial advice and support to local technical teams and crew with the ability to step in and assist in person when required.
- To give electro-technical specialist assistance to the global fleet, when required.
- To procure replacement specialised electrical equipment in a timely manner when breakdowns have occurred within the fleet.
- Identification and selection of electrical equipment for vessel repairs, modifications and projects in conjunction with Technical Superintendents.
- Assist the Technical team with electrical support to varying levels ensuring that the vessels are fully operational in accordance with local, national, flag and classification society requirements.
- Supplying key specialist knowledge for vessels primarily in the UK region.
Experience Required:
- Holds an Electro-Technical CoC (validity is N/A)
- At least 5 years’ experience in the marine industry and vessel specific electrical/electronic systems such as power management systems (PMS), alarm systems, and switchboard systems
- Full UK Driving License
- An in depth understanding of the electrical engineering requirements of the vessels in the UK fleet and a wide expertise in the application of electrical engineering solutions in a service environment
