Fleet Manager (Offshore) – Permanent – UAE – Excellent package

This is an excellent opportunity to join a global ship management company based in Abu Dhabi.

The purpose of the FM is to lead, motivate and coach the Fleet team and the vessel crew thus ensuring Customer satisfaction. The Fleet Manager is one of the most important functions in the business and is accountable for, and has the authority to, take decisions that ensure his/her ships are operated to the highest standards, in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and in accordance

Responsibilities include:

• Safety is first priority and the Fleet Manager has the authority and the accountability for taking necessary decisions that ensure constant safe operation
• Responsible for, and has the authority to, deliver full ship management service to the Customer
• Be the link between the Customer and his/her ship and the responsible person for ensuring that the Customer fully benefits from the operational performance of his/her ship
• Train, encourage, mentor and develop the fleet team and the leadership on board
• Take responsibility to ensure all third party inspections (SIRE, CDI, PSC etc.) are passed with a minimum number of observations.
• Ensure that the Fleet and Vessels (along with Superintendents) are adequately and competently staffed with requisite experience
• Responsible for approving the Fleet’s annual Vessel Operating Budgets prior to submission to the client in accordance with their budget timetable

Responsibilities include:

• Hold Class one Chief Engineer Unlimited license
• 5 years shore based experience in a Marine related company (Technical Superintendent or equivalent)
• Must extensive experience of Offshore Vessels (PSV/DSV/AHTS etc)
• Proven management experience and must have excellent leadership and people management skills, be able to coach & mentor staff
• Good interpersonal skills with the ability to engage, interact and lead people at all levels
• Committed to delivering a quality service, controlling costs/budgets and providing value for money

This is a new role due to growth and there are plans to expand further in the near future. The role is based in the Abu Dhabi office and offers an excellent package
