Tug Mate (6 month FTC) – South East

As a Tug Mate you will play a crucial role in the safe and efficient operation of the vessels. You will provide assistance and support to the Master at all times, particularly whilst at sea, along with assisting the Master with the supervision, training, health and safety of the crew.

Skills and Qualifications

• Minimum of STCW II/3 OOW unlimited
• Previous experience as a Tug Mate or similar position in the maritime industry
• Valid ENG 1 certificate
• Proficient understanding of navigation, vessel handling, and towing operations
• Good Knowledge of the ISM code
• Understanding of Health and Safety as applicable to Merchant Shipping
• General sea going experience as a watch keeping officer
• Experience operating ASD tugs (desirable)
• Has the desire to progress into a Tug Master role
