Key Responsibilities:

1.Cargo Handling and Operations:

  • Supervise the loading, unloading, and transfer of chemical cargo in accordance with established procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Coordinate ballasting, tank cleaning, stowage plan, manifold plan and other vessel operations to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Monitor cargo stowage and stability to ensure the safe transportation of chemicals.

2.Communication and Coordination:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact between the vessel, terminal operators, port authorities, and other stakeholders.
  • Communicate effectively with the vessel's crew to convey operational instructions, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate with port authorities regarding vessel movements, berthing arrangements, and port clearance procedures

3.Emergency Response, Risk Management and Inspection:

  • To support Master during vetting and internal / external audits inspections including SIRE, CDI, PSC
  • To coordinate Flag State Control (FSC), Port State Control (PSC) and United State Coast Guard (USCG) inspections and responses to deficiencies observed during these types of inspections.
  • To carry out evidence collection, data collation and support investigation during accidents / incidents.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and take proactive measures to minimize potential risks during port operations.
  • Coordinate emergency drills and training exercises to ensure preparedness and response readiness.


Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marine Transportation, Maritime Studies, or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of sailing experience as Master of ocean-going chemical tankers including Veg oil, sensitive cargo, and special heated cargoes on stainless steel parcel chemical tanker.
  • Previous experience as a Port Captain or similar role in chemical tanker operations.
  • In-depth knowledge of chemical tanker operations, cargo handling procedures, and safety regulations.
  • Excellent leadership, teamwork, management and communication skills.
