Technical Manager – (Survey Vessels)

Technical Manager – Permanent – Remote, UK – £50k-£55k plus car/allowance & benefits

This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading marine services provider based in the UK. The ideal location would be Liverpool but would consider anywhere in the UK as the role can be remote with travel to vessels. This role would suit someone who wants to work ashore but wishes to remain very hands on.

The Technical Manager is responsible for all asset protection, maintenance and repair activities associated with the floating and shore-based assets of the division. To include, but not limited to Pilot Launches, Line Handlers, Gig boats, work boats, debris clearance vessels, and pilot transfer vessels and any third-party vessels including survey vessels.

Responsibilities include:

• Effective maintenance of the fleet of vessels
• Ensure all maintenance activities are delivered within agreed timescales and on budget
• Full responsibility and accountability of the Planned Maintenance System
• Ensure all work is conducted in full compliance with Company Health, Safety and Environmental Policies, associated site safety regulations and good industry practice
• Responsible and accountable for safety reporting within the technical team and for technical issues
• Provide quotes for drydocking for internal and external vessels

Experience Required:

• Significant experience of working in a marine environment and ashore
• Experience of managing contractors
• Experience in working with planned maintenance systems and defect reporting
• Technical and practical ‘hands on’ experience in similar role
• STCW qualified or equivalent Engineering license
• A background in small vessel operation maintenance
• Full UK Drivers license
