Serco Maritime have an exciting opportunity available for a Marine Technician to join as a member of the Technical Support team. Working at the Round Tower Complex in Portsmouth, you will be the point of contact in assisting the vessel crews in maintenance and carry out the rectification of defects in a professional engineering manner.

Your duties will include:

• To rectify defects on any Serco vessel or any vessel under Serco management (refit).
• To carry out all tasks within their capability that are assigned by the Technical team.
• To assist Ship’s Engineer in rectification of defects or routine maintenance.
• To advise Vessel Superintendent on any matter related to rectification of defects.
• Assist with Logistics, loading and unloading with forklifts and Gantry crane systems at the Round Tower Complex and any other requirements that may arise.
• Safe & efficient use of workshop facilities in the course of duties, keeping working areas clean & tidy.

What you need to do the job

• Experience in the Marine industry
• ONC or equivalent in particular trade or Marine equivalent.
• Manual Handling
• Health and Safety Awareness
• Full driving licence
• Completed apprenticeship (NVQ Level 3 or upwards) in associated trade is desirable.
