Measurement Specialist (Contract)

We employs a team of 140 professionals globally with operations in the United Kingdom, Singapore, and the United States (Houston and Florida). We have partnered with an Industry leader in pipeline services in their search for a Measurement Specialist to join their team. The Measurement Specialist will be responsible for:

• Calibration, gas sampling, testing, operation, gas quality monitoring, and maintenance of the measurement facilities and pipeline systems in the Longview and Jacksonville areas.
• The measurement facilities include orifice meters, ultrasonic meters, flow computers, samplers, communications devices, regulators, relief valves, valves, and actuators.
• This role will also be responsible for environmental health and safety and reliability for natural gas transmission through the pipeline system in the Longview/Jacksonville, TX area.
• In addition, you will be responsible for recognition and reporting of abnormal and safety related operating conditions, accident and near miss reporting, performing emergency responses procedures, performing regulatory compliance procedures, and performing repair procedures.
• You will be required to respond to call outs for emergency or abnormal situations and will be required to live within 30 miles of the Longview, TX facility in order to respond to call outs expediently.

Requirements for the Measurement Specialist include:

• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Electrical/electronics/pneumatic background
• Excellent verbal and communication skills
• Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. for a minimum of 50 feet, the ability to operate valve control wheels with a minimum of 50 turns, the ability to work in extreme weather conditions, and the ability to stand for long durations
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record and the ability to pass auditory and optic exams
• Excellent problem solving skills
• Instrumentation and controls background
• Strong computer skills
• Natural gas measurement experience
• High school diploma

Qualified Measurement Specialist candidates will possess the following:

• 5+ years of gas pipeline and measurement operations and maintenance experience
• Working knowledge of DOT Part 192 regulations
• Associate's degree
