New Building Contracts Manager – Permanent – UK/Europe – Excellent package

This is a very important hire and an excellent opportunity to join a global shipping company.

In this role you will enable supporting New Build clients not only on the Technical side (with plan approval & supervision services) but also Commercial aspects. Ideally based in Monaco/South of France but would also consider Glasgow or Athens.

Responsibilities include:

• Identify suitable shipyards for New Building project
• Prepare capability and track record overview of shipyards
• Draft shipbuilding contract proposal, incorporating best practices liaising with technical parties
• Manage interactions with shipyard for tendering and audit purposes
• Review commercial aspects of Yard submissions including tender evaluation, alignment, and GAP Analysis
• Manage commercial scoring of tenders
• Assist Project Team with Makers selection as required
• Support Site Team on contractual terms in any contested deviations during construction
• Liaise with Site Team on accepted deviations during construction and agree value with shipyard
• Negotiate value of any Variation Orders during construction

Experience Required:

• Naval Architect or Marine Engineer or relevant ship brokerage experience
• More than five years’ experience in the shipping industry
• Brokerage of offshore new build shipbuilding contracts
• Familiarity with shipyard activities (New Builds or repairs)
• Familiarity with stakeholders’ management
• Experienced in broking new build contracts for Cable Laying Vessels
• Previous experience in managerial role
