Technical Superintendent – Permanent – Florida, USA – Excellent package

This is an excellent opportunity to join a west established shipping company based in South Florida.

The Technical Superintendent manages the day to day engineering and technical operations for the fleet in accordance with Company policies and procedures, as well as government regulations and customer expectations

Responsibilities include:

• Be the frontline management representative for the vessels assigned

• Oversees maintenance and repair of assigned vessels.
• Prepares, monitors and controls budget for assigned vessels.
• Ensures safe and efficient operation of all engineering related functions on board assigned vessels.
• Ensures continuous operation of assigned vessels, eliminating downtime due to breakdown.
• Undertakes vessel visits and inspections, ensuring vessels are maintained to comply with any and all relevant standards.
• Liaises with external authorities, Flag, Class, Port State regulatory bodies.
• Monitors vessel efficiency and environmental performance.
• Monitors Planned Maintenance (PMS) for execution of work.

Experience Required:

• A degree in Marine Engineering or similar
• Chief Engineer certificate of competency.
• 3 or more years’ experience as an Technical/Engineering Superintendent.
• Working knowledge of bulk carriers.
• Excellent organization, planning and prioritization skills.
• Valid passport with no travel restrictions and driver’s license.
