Seaworthy Consulting are looking for a Deputy Marine Manger to join a small fleet, located in Northeast Coast of England. Role is to assist the Marine Manger with various requirements such as but not limited to operation issues, vessel maintenance, condition and collaborations with other departments. You may be required by the business to stand in as acting Marine Manger. Successful candidate must be able to work well within a team, and work alongside the commercial department and Marine Superintendent.

Candidate will need to have a resilient, self-motivating and flexible attitude as this role is working within an industry that operates 365/24/7. Ability to prioritise workloads, make decisions and often under pressure against tight deadline means a resilient, well organised person with great communication skills is essential for this role.


Responsibilities:

• To provide full operational support for all vessels under control.
• Provide close support to vessels crews on all operational and customer issues.
• Close liaison with Flag and Classification societies on related surveys, documentation.
• Assist in ensuring budgetary targets on operations are met.
• Assist in the development of Marine and Operational related issues: writing of operating manuals for the company Safety Management System in conjunction with the company HSSEQ Manager.
• Render a prompt and professional service to internal and external customers, ensuring proper handling of all operational matters and associated areas.
• Timely and accurate submission of reports / information concerning area of responsibility to relevant persons, departments and ports.
• Ensure in all respects to comply with the Company Competition Compliance.
• Any other reasonable tasks as required by Management.

Requirements/Qualifications:
• Knowledge of MS Office
• Good negotiating and presentation skills
• Detailed knowledge of the maritime industry, with knowledge of towage and / or offshore industry
• High level of knowledge of maritime legislation, including ISM, ISPS, flag and classification societies and associated requirements
• Certificate of Competency OOW or Master
STCW basic courses and marine medical
• Minimum 5 years extensive experience in Marine Industry, particularly towage and / or offshore markets, harbour/terminal management of benefit

Contractual 35 hours - Mon to Fri 9-5pm with one hour for lunch. However, the role may require very occasional out of hours and weekend working
Salary - £38-45K per annum
Start Date - ASAP
28 days holiday including statutory bank holidays, Pension contribution and Death in service benefits
