Your role: Port Engineer
Location: Dubai / ABOT
Salary: Competitive
Work Arrangement: Permanent contract; 6 months on and then 4-month rotation.
Role Overview:
As a Port Engineer, you will be based at Al Basrah Oil Terminal (ABOT), with regular embarkation and disembarkation in Dubai. The role involves the management of a diverse fleet, including 25 vessels and accommodation barges, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to maritime standards.
Key Duties:
1. Oversee the maintenance, repair, and technical operations of a fleet of 25 vessels, including accommodation barges, to guarantee safe and efficient performance.
2. Conduct regular inspections and assessments of vessels to identify and address any technical issues promptly.
3. Collaborate with onshore and offshore teams to coordinate scheduled maintenance, dry-docking, and repairs, minimizing downtime.
4. Manage and optimize vessel systems, including propulsion, navigation, and safety equipment, ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
5. Provide technical guidance and support to onboard engineering teams, fostering a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
6. Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs to extend the lifespan and reliability of vessels and equipment.
7. Collaborate with procurement to source and manage spare parts inventory, ensuring timely availability for maintenance and repairs.
8. Stay abreast of industry trends, regulations, and best practices to implement improvements in vessel performance and safety.
9. Respond promptly to emergency situations, providing technical expertise to mitigate risks and ensure the safety of personnel and assets.
10. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, budgets, and performance metrics.
Requirements:
1. Previous experience in technical roles within the maritime industry.
2. Strong knowledge of vessel systems, propulsion, and maritime regulations.
3. Proven ability to manage and lead engineering teams effectively.
4. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
5. Effective communication skills to liaise with onshore and offshore teams, suppliers, and regulatory authorities.
6. Flexibility to work on-site at Al Basrah Oil Terminal (ABOT) and rotate on a 6-month on-site, 4-month off-site schedule.
7. Commitment to safety and environmental stewardship.

Work Experience Requirements
All applicants must have previous experience in working on ships.
Language Requirements
Good knowledge of the English language is required.
Certificates and Qualifications
Mandatory STCW certificates are required from all applicants.
