Facilities Engineer – Permanent – Competitive Salary
As the Facilities Engineer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the smooth operation of our facility. Your responsibilities include equipment maintenance, project management, and ensuring workplace safety and functionality. The Facilities Engineer will have autonomy and a leadership role in overseeing maintenance, compliance, and security to ensure a safe and efficient facility.
Main Duties:
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and statutory requirements, maintaining up-to-date records.
- Manage contractors, reviewing and approving work completion, and addressing deficiencies.
- Oversee facility infrastructure projects.
- Perform scheduled and reactive maintenance across the facility.
- Manage planned preventative maintenance contracts, including lifting equipment, compressed air, heating, security, and fire alarms.
- Regularly inspect for potential hazards and monitor fire exits and escape routes.
- Conduct scheduled emergency lighting checks and maintenance.
- Review waste management and site sustainability.
- Maintain site cleanliness, including waste management and contract cleaning.
- Ensure site security, including shift start and end responsibilities.
- Maintain accurate service and maintenance records.
- Coordinate with the landlord for structural repairs.
- Monitor and replenish heating fuel.
- Be available for emergency “ON CALL” and alarm call-outs.
- Manage multiple-site facility responsibilities.
- Perform other tasks and duties as required by Senior Management.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a Facilities Engineer role or similar.
- Experience in managing small teams and task scheduling.
- Relevant Electrical Engineering and mechanical qualifications preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Capable of basic building repairs and maintenance.
- Competent use of electrical/mechanical equipment and tools preferred.
- Good understanding of modern health and safety practices.
- Physical capability for bending and lifting.
- Forklift license (counter balance) desirable.
- Key holder position.
