Production Manager – Permanent – Competitive Salary
As the Production Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing resources to achieve production targets. Collaborating closely with the Production Planning Manager, you will plan production schedules, oversee a dynamic workforce, and work towards meeting weekly “Off-Line” goals, all while striving for enhanced efficiency and quality through a process-oriented approach.
Main Duties:

  • Management of Production: Oversee the production process and available resources to achieve off-line targets.
  • Production Planning: Work closely with the Planning Manager to create weekly production schedules for assembly lines and adapt to fluctuations in output.
  • Quality Improvement: Develop and review quality procedures with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Cultivate a Professional Culture: Promote a professional culture in the manufacturing environment that aligns with the company’s core values.
  • Skills Development: Maintain a facility-wide skills matrix, oversee staff training, including new starter programs and apprentice training.
  • Production Planning Meetings: Attend weekly production planning meetings with departmental managers.
  • Performance Review: Regularly review production performance and efficiency.
  • Team Leadership: Hold regular “key information” meetings with Team Leaders to enhance their effectiveness within their teams.
  • Staff Management: Monitor staff sickness and attendance levels. Handle staff engagement, holiday management, annual appraisals, and general discipline of production staff.
  • Factory Operations: Organize the opening and closing of the factory, authorize and monitor production staff overtime.
  • Health and Safety: Ensure the implementation and maintenance of factory floor health and safety practices.
  • Safe Working Environment: Maintain a safe, clean working environment, ensuring the manufacturing facility is kept to a high standard.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Sound knowledge of production processes.
  • Process-driven mindset.
  • Experience in implementing workplace health and safety measures.
  • Excellent communication skills and organizational experience.
  • Ability to motivate staff in a production environment.
  • Proficiency in upholding safe working practices.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing techniques such as 5S.
