Environmental Health and Safety Consultant

My client is currently seeking an EHS Consultant, to be based in Lincoln, Leeds or Manchester. This role has been created to expand its EHS service offerings. The successful candidate should have at least 5 years' experience in consultancy preferably, although manufacturing will also be considered.
The ideal candidate will need to demonstrate the ability to deliver work to a high quality, meet demanding deadlines and understand client needs. A general understanding of a broad range of health and safety issues will be required primarily, although the successful candidate would also be conversant with environmental best practice, particularly in areas of compliance and permitting. The role will require the candidate to grow the EHS unit into wider markets and client bases and experience of merger & acquisition support would be beneficial.
The key responsibilities will be to provide EHS advice, carry out EHS legal compliance audits, create a range of risk assessments, develop EHS management systems (to ISO standards), prepare EHS legal registers and develop EHS procedures and policies. There is a requirement to possess excellent report writing and reviewing skills with attention to detail and accuracy and good computer skills. The successful candidate would also have excellent communication skills having demonstrable experience of working with a corporate client base.
Candidates are required to have:-
Minimum of NEBOSH general certificate or equivalent
A degree OR diploma in an EHS or science subject.
Additional experience or qualifications in occupational hygiene or environmental auditing would be beneficial.
A full UK driving licence is essential.
