Role Overview:
Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Tanker Operator to join the team. This crucial role entails the day-to-day operational management of Methanol, Product Tanker, and Crude operations. The incumbent will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of these critical cargoes in accordance with industry standards and regulations. It involves direct liaison with the Operation team, the Head of the department as well as the chartering manager as directed.

Key Responsibilities:

**Methanol Tankers:**
- Oversee the loading and discharge operations of Methanol tankers, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Monitor cargo quantities and maintain precise documentation for Methanol operations.
- Establish effective communication with vessel crews and third-party stakeholders to facilitate smooth operations.
- Act promptly to address operational issues and implement necessary corrective actions.

**Product Tankers:**
- Manage the day-to-day operations of Product Tanker vessels, including cargo transfer and storage.
- Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with international regulations governing product tanker operations.
- Collaborate closely with the Chartering and Logistics teams to optimize voyage planning and vessel utilization.
- Execute emergency response procedures and handle incidents related to Product Tanker operations efficiently.

**Interpersonal Relationships:**
- Cultivate and maintain strong working relationships with vessel crews, port authorities, and terminal operators.
- Collaborate seamlessly with internal departments, including Chartering, Technical, and Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE), to streamline operational processes.
- Foster effective communication with brokers and agents to optimize vessel scheduling and port calls.
- Provide mentorship and support to junior tanker operators, contributing to a cohesive and efficient team.

Level of Responsibility
* Number of vessels to be managed: 5 - 10 in total.
* Area of Operation: West of Suez Canal (including Atlantic, US Gulf & WC, Caribbean, North Sea, Baltic and Mediterranean), Red Sea and Arabian Gulf.

Requirements:
- Applicants must possess a proven track record of shoreside experience in the tanker sector, with a background in operational management highly preferred.
- A seagoing background is advantageous, as it provides practical insights into the complexities of tanker operations.
- Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills, accompanied by meticulous attention to detail.
- Superior communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
- Profound knowledge of international maritime regulations and industry best practices.
- An adaptive approach to address unforeseen challenges and emergencies.

Language Requirements

Good knowledge of the English language is required.

Certificates and Qualifications
