Design Engineer (Marine Hydraulics)

Design Engineer (Marine Hydraulics) – Devon – Permanent

Navis Consulting are looking for a proactive member to join a small technical department that has an eye for detail and the passion to deliver high standards. You must have strong understanding with marine hydraulics from valves, latches, pumps, etc. You will be expect to contribute to design and development of products and be involved with manufacture, install, commission, service and maintain hydraulic systems.

Main Duties:

• Lead development projects
• Provide technical support to production and sales departments
• Liaise with suppliers given technical knowledge
• Produce, maintain and manage technical assembly and manufacturing drawings
• Assist with decision making
• Involvement in product testing
• Assist in the building and testing of prototypes from concept to pre-production stage
• Control of billing of materials
• Assist with launch days into OEM applications and liaising with departments to make sure all is ran smoothly

Qualifications and Experience:

• Formal Engineering education to degree standard and at least two years’ experience in an Engineering role
• Advanced skills in 3D CAD
• Inventor software or something similar
• Experience of designing to ISO Standards
• Experience of managing design projects through a complete ‘life-cycle’
• Experience working with SME production lines
• Understanding of a wide range of manufacturing processes common to automotive and marine industries
• Understanding of general marine engineering
• Familiarization with various molding techniques
