Electrical Design Engineer

Electrical Design Engineer – Merseyside – Permanent

As an Electrical Design Engineer you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining craft electrical systems and/or components to required specifications. You will be working on products and projects from concept to completion, including implementation and testing, while collaborating with the purchasing, production and design and development teams to ensure smooth product development and manufacture.

Duties include:

• Development of functional system diagrams and descriptions.
• Integration of electrical parts and systems in close cooperation with other departments.
• Management of all electrical / data interfaces between systems developed in house and subcontracted.
• Routing of cables and harnesses in 2D (and 3D if required).
• Supporting yard during production and commissioning till vessel delivery.
• Contribute to design studies and proposals for new projects.
• Technical review of offers from suppliers together with the procurement department.

The successful candidate will have:

• Electrical design engineering experience within a marine, automotive or similar industry.
• CAD and Solidworks experience
• Experience working on complex electrical installations very desirable.
• Bachelor Level Electrical Engineering Degree or HND level with 2-3 years relevant experience
• Ability to pass a Security Screening
• Full valid UK driving license.
• Eligible to work in UK.
