Sustainability Manager – (Remote UK or EU)

Sustainability Manager – Permanent – Remote (UK or EU) – Excellent package

This is a new role and an excellent opportunity to join a global shipping company. The role can be remote with the expectation of being in Glasgow for a few days per month

The purpose of this role is to guide the company through the strategic objective to be at the forefront of the decarbonization agenda in shipping. You will help lead the way towards lowering carbon emissions through the adoption of pioneering & transitionary fuels, new technologies. Digital practices etc

Responsibilities include:

• Create emissions reduction measures & develop emission calculation tools
• Support the methodology of supervision and reporting of greenhouse gas emissions
• Build & maintain strong relationships with key clients, stakeholders and industry partners
• Plan and control schedules and budgets for the largescale & small-scale projects keeping a strategic overview
• Support the positioning of the ESG & sustainability team as a bridge and advisor to the HSSEQ function
• Monitor & analyse market trends & competitor activity, identifying opportunities for growth & development

Experience Required:

• Have a degree in Naval Architecture or similar
• Experience in the development of processes as it relates to sustainability
• Strong project management experience ideally with BWTS, Scrubber and SCR refits
• Responsible for the EU ETS & MRV requirements
• Be able to guide through the current and future green/alternative fuels and initiatives affecting the marine industry
• Strong negotiation and excellent reporting skills

Ideal location would be either Glasgow or London, however, would consider remote working any location in the UK or EU as long as prepared to travel to Glasgow for 2-3 days per month
