Operations Petrophysical Advisor

Our client is a joint venture partnership between a super major and a national oil company. This is a complex project on an artificial island working with Sour Gas.

As the Operations Petrophysical Advisor within the Sour Gas multi- disciplinary asset evaluation team, you will plan, execute and review logging operations. You will be involved in QC interpretation work and perform petrophysical interpretation of individual wells as part of the appraisal and development program.
In addition the function assists in reservoir modelling and field development planning work. Whilst providing technical expertise to Sour Gas recovery / handling.

The main responsibilities will be:
a. Contribute to well proposal documents by assisting in the definition of well evaluation objectives and the petrophysical logging (tool strings, operational, etc) and possibly coring requirements necessary to deliver on those objectives in a cost effective manner

b. Work closely with drilling and service providers to ensure that adequate data acquisition planning and preparation are in place prior to drilling the well with particular attention to specialist services like MDT, NMR etc.

c. Provide subsurface support to drilling and well services operations.

d. Communicate effectively on progress of operations to allow the right operational decisions to be taken

e. Ensure effective quality control during data acquisition, and any service company post acquisition processing.

f.Provide support for geosteering of horizontal wells in line with well objectives.

g. Provide formation evaluation / petrophysical analysis and during drilling and as part of a final well (petrophysical) report post drilling.

h. Capture work done in comprehensive post-job report.

i.Ensure that all Petrophysical data and reports are properly captured in company archives and databases.
