Technical Superintendent (Tankship) - Permanent - London
A leading tanker company with a global presence are recruiting a Technical Superintendent to join their team in London.
Duties will include;
* Manage all technical matters and ensure that safety is being given the highest priority.
* Manage financial budgets and cost control for maintenance, repairs, stores, modifications, and dry docking while ensuring compliance with industry, Class and International regulations.
* Maintain close communication with the vessel management team, and lead, develop and coach assigned senior officers on all matters (safety, technical, cost, leadership).
* Conduct appraisal of crew member, brief crew on organisational policies, documentation, and procedures.
* Arrange Classification Society, Statutory and Flag State surveys.
They are looking for an individual who;
* Has good interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
* Physically fit and willing to travel on short notice when and as required (approx. 50-60 days annually)
* Qualified as Chief Engineer or equivalent.
* Background as Marine Engineer, preferred sailed as chief engineer on crude/chemical tankers.
* Has at least 3 years of experience and proven technical ability as technical superintendent or similar position.
* Planned maintenance system experience

All applicants must have previous experience in working on ships.
Language Requirements
Good knowledge of the English language is required.
Certificates and Qualifications
Mandatory STCW certificates are required from all applicants.
Please sign up for STCW courses and obtain the certificates if you don't have them yet.
