Senior Underwriting Assistant (Marine) – London – Permanent – £40,000 – £45,000

An opportunity has arisen with a leading marine insurance company for a Senior Underwriting Assistant to join their busy team.

The role will require you to provide assistance to the Underwriters, dealing with a range of marine policies including P&I, FD&D and war risk insurance on behalf of policy holders and brokers. You will assist the underwriters with full range of underwriting services from new enquiries, amendments and cancellations through to renewals.

The responsibilities will include administrative duties to ensure that policies and procedures are compliant whilst also mentoring junior members within the team. You will also have exposure to meetings with external stakeholders and internally with the senior underwriting team. Applicants should have experience as an underwriting assistant or technician, ideally within the marine market and any experience with P&I insurance is advantageous.

A good starting salary and package is on offer to the successful applicant and the opportunity to join a market leader within the marine insurance market. The company will also provide support to help you gain industry recognised qualifications such as ACII and P&IQ
