UK Servie Manager – Remote/Site Visits – £60,000p.a.-£75,000p.a.

The UK Service Manager is responsible for leading and continually improving the technical Service and Support offered from the various UK sites. To ensure that the highest possible standard of engineering delivery is given to our customers. The UK Service Manager is responsible for all aspects of the Service capability which includes, but is not limited to, maintaining an agreed level of profitability for Service and the delivery of labour contracts.

We are looking for a leader who will be able to operate at various levels of the organisation to ensure that accurate and timely service is delivered to our customers. The successful candidate will provide direction and line management to a distributed team and must be able to influence, support, advise and challenge decisions made elsewhere in the business where appropriate.

Responabilities:

* Working with direct reports such as Principal Engineers, the UK Service Manager will have the authority to direct resources to ensure service delivery is done in the most effective and efficiency way possible.
* Responsible for ensuring the best use of company engineering team to maximise the income achieved.
* Provide support to Regional and Sales Managers to enable the sale of framework, National Service, and contracts to new and existing customers. Ensure the successful management and delivery of those contracts once won and fully meet or exceed customer expectations for Technical Service provision.
* Lead the recruitment activity to maintain the staffing levels in the Service team, and balance them against engineer utilisation. It is expected that recruitment will be supported by local leadership where appropriate.
* Provide oversight and leadership, to ensure medium to large installation Projects are delivered within a given scope and timeframe.
* Control the training budget, to ensure the service engineering technical capability mix matches the requirements of the business. Working with Regional Managers, The Head of Engineering, and other company stakeholders, agree the training priorities of the business and deliver the training plan.
* Develop trusting relationships with Clients and suppliers. Provide service solutions to clients
* Provide reporting to service customers, including leading meetings and presenting any contractually agreed data.
* Manage the Company’s Radio Survey capability.
* Control test equipment budget for the service network, including control of the calibration costs.
* Provide written contributions for bids and tenders for service and project delivery.
* Undertakes continual development independently to understand emerging market opportunities to grow our service revenue.
* Support quality and survey obligations to ensure that all service is conducted in accordance with ISO 9001, or the relevant approving classification society.
* In conjunction with the SHE Manager, ensure that the company Health and Safety policies and procedures are fully adhered to by the Service Team. Implement corrective action where necessary.
