Faststream has partnered with a Global Oil and Gas Industry leader in their search for a Senior Geologist. The Senior Geologist will focus on delivering unconventional opportunities including shale reservoirs, tight sandstones, or tight carbonates.

Responsibilities for the Senior Geologist include:

• Identify and high grade leasing activity and / or acquisition opportunities that lead to expansion of portfolio.
• Screen and evaluate North American basins for grass roots exploration or farm in opportunities.
• Oversee technical staff and ensure that work is consistent with company standards.
• Mentor and develop graduates and less experienced geologists.
• Lead cross discipline integration in the evaluation in the evaluation of unconventional opportunities, which will require Petrophysics, reservoir engineering, operations, and land into any opportunity or advanced analysis of play.

Requirements for the Senior Geologist are as follows:

• BS in geosciences is a must
• Experience in unconventionals is required, including understanding the data types collected for unconventional analysis, interpretation, and integration into well performance.
• Experience in unconventional exploration
• Experience of working in a variety of geological settings - working in Midcontinent, Rockies, and/or Appalachia regions is preferred
• Operational experience including well site operations, understanding of drilling operations, and a basic understanding of completion practices in unconventional reservoirs
• Experience using software suites such as ArcGis, Petra, Kingdom Suite (SMT), Petrel
