Our client is a new joint venture working on the design and construction of a new onshore gas drilling development. The joint venture brings together two very successful major oil companies with vast skill and expertise within drilling and sulphur recovery.

They seek an experienced Geological Advisor to ensure the tools and studies are in place to be used for development well design and planning. They will have a primary focus on static and upscaled dynamic solution models; facies and diagenetic modelling; geomechanics; fluid compositional studies and uncertainty analysis.

The candidate will provide geological support to the multi-discipline exploration team. They will work to plan and execute the gas field appraisal and development wells utilizing 3D seismic and wells database. They will work closely with internal contacts to identify optimal well design and locations for development wells, using static and dynamic simulation models to define strategy of optimisation of well design, preferred well paths and lengths for development drilling program.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A degree in Geology
  • Hands on experience with Petrel or Landmark geomodelling software
  • Familiarity with geomodelling work flow, uncertainty analysis and volumetrics estimatation
  • A key understanding of reservoir simulation modelling and uncertainty analysis
  • Expert level Geological contribution to the team
  • Vast technical experience as an oil company Geologist preferably with large scale development projects
