Training & Competence Manager – Remote, UK – Permanent – Good package

This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading marine services provider as Training & Competence Manager. This role can be either remote or based out of one of their UK offices.

The role sits within the HSEQ department and is responsible for devising and delivering the training strategy and the maintaining of a training programme that combined meets the industry technical competencies and HSE regulatory requirements with the overall aim being to reduce the risk of human error through effective training of personnel.

Responsibilities include:

• develops, maintains, and delivers a training Plan and budget that leads to continuous improvement and anticipates the business requirement
• Liaise with the HSEQ department to ensure all work is conducted in full compliance with Company Health, Safety & Environmental Policies, associated site safety regulations and good industry practice
• Maintain and improve the existing Group training and competence assurance framework
• Develop bespoke departmental & individual training plans whilst reporting regularly on the status and health of departmental training
• Liaise with accreditation bodies, agencies and providers as necessary to ensure training delivery meets appropriate standards

Experience Required:

• Previous experience within a Training Management role (ideally in a marine environment)
• Experience in the delivery of Health & Safety training
• Experienced in the development and implementation of competence systems
• Experience dealing with education providers, registered training organisations, skill services organisations, etc
• Excellent communication skills with strong negotiation and influencing skills
• Full UK Driving Licence
