Engineer (Freight) – South Cornwall

We are seeking a Sole Engineer to work onboard a freight ship working out of the South of Cornwall with a 2 week on/off rotation.

This company is unique in the UK in terms of its breadth of transport operations including shipping, airline and airport services; providing lifeline links for both passengers and freight between the Isles and the mainland.

Duties:

• Responsible for onboard planned maintenance
• Ensure safe / optimum operation and maintenance of all electrical, electronic equipment.
• Assist the Chief Officer with deck operational duties when required.
• Ensure all shipboard equipment is maintained for optimum performance and be responsible for maintenance and repairs of all onboard machinery.
• Support requests from the Master/Technical Superintendent regarding vessel operation/maintenance.

Requirements:

• Minimum requirement: MEOL or Chief Engineer
• Mandatory STCW certificates.
• ENG1 medical certificate.
