Do you have an eye for detail, a thorough approach to your work and an interest in maritime safety?

If this sounds like you, this is an exciting opportunity to join the UK Hydrographic Office (UKHO) and play a key role supporting the production of the Admiralty List of Radio Signals; a digital and paper publication, providing safety critical information to mariners, with contents ranging from maritime radio stations listings to maritime safety information services.

With the situation at sea constantly changing, it is vital that the publication is accurately maintained and updated. We are therefore seeking highly analytical candidates to research and acquire new information, assess incoming data, accurately update the product suite, and write and publish weekly notices to mariners.

You will join the Admiralty List of Radio Signals Team, which is responsible for the receipt and analysis of all incoming information that could impact on our products. The Team also undertake research to ensure our paper and digital products are refreshed and as up to date as possible.

Whilst existing maritime knowledge and an understanding of radio signals would be hugely beneficial, more important will be your keen eye for detail and strong analytical, communication and decision-making skills. We are equally interested in hearing from candidates who can evidence experience in managing a quality service and the ability to quickly learn the product suite.

Experience of maritime communications is desirable but not as essential as the willingness to learn this specialist area.

UKHO is a great place in which to explore your career potential. While our projects are career-defining, the work/life balance that we can offer you is equally exceptional. From flexitime, flexible working, an award-winning office environment and a generous annual leave allowance of 34.5 days including public holidays, the opportunities open to you here are hard to beat.
