Maitre D (Cruise) – Worldwide

A large cruise line is seeing an experienced Maitre D to join one of their ships. You will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of, any special events held in, the Specialty Restaurant onboard.

Responsibilities:

• conducts oneself in a professional and courteous manner at all times
• Directs, coaches, supports, supervises and evaluates (in conjunction with the Food & Beverage Manager) the performance of all direct reports.
• Responsible for the general maintenance of the Specialty Restaurant, reporting any repair or replacement needs to the Food & Beverage Manager.
• Supervises the wine service and promotes wines to increases sales. Promotes the range of special products, champagnes, rare wine vintages and the cognac selection.
• Welcomes guests as they enter the Specialty Restaurant from the Maître d’s desk, providing special attention to VIP’s and special requests.
• Other duties associated to the role

Requirements:

• 5 years minimum in hospitality management
• Degree in hospitality management, business administration or a related field
• USPH certification
• Very strong communication skills
• Cruise ship experience is preferred
