Ships Service Engineer – (Liverpool)

Ships Service Engineer – Permanent – Liverpool – £35k – £37k plus benefits

This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading marine services provider based in Liverpool.

This is a client facing role and you will implement and oversee maintenance and repairs of vessels owned and operated by the company and their clients at various locations around the UK.

Unlike a typical Service Engineer role that involves extensive travel, this is a normal 8am – 5pm, Mon – Fri role. Mainly working in Liverpool but will involve some UK travel.

Responsibilities include:

• Service and repair vessel machinery, generally (but not limited to) propulsion engines, stern drives, generators, hydraulic systems and deck equipment
• Fault find and troubleshoot as required
• Accurate and timely reporting of all work carried out which will include completion of service reports at the end of each job
• Carry out internal audits and inspections of vessels, ensuring that comprehensive records are maintained
• Oversee the attendance of subcontractors to vessels
• Adhere to Company and Regulatory documentation and procedures.
• Ensure that items services/repaired fully comply with specification requirements

Experience Required:

To be considered for this role you should have a strong marine/mechanical engineering background. Perhaps you have sailed in the Royal or Merchant Navy and want a shore based role but also want to remain hands on.

Having experience with planned/unplanned maintenance, repairs and engine overhauls is highly desirable

In return you will receive a good base salary of £35k – £37k, a company Van, Fuel Card, Laptop & Phone. 35 days holiday, pension, life assurance cover. When you are required to work away all expenses are paid up front. Whilst the preference is for someone based in Liverpool would also consider other locations around the UK for the right candidate

Must have the right to work in the UK and hold a full UK drivers license
