Business Development Manager – JAPAN

My client is a leading global maritime due diligence organization with expertise in safety, sustainability, and social responsibility best practices. They use their years of industry knowledge and cutting-edge analytics to provide safety and environmental scoring systems, recommendations, and consultancy services. Their goal is to set new benchmarks in environmental protection using leading data and technology, and support global initiatives to bring about impactful change.

Together we are searching for a business development manager to join the small team in Japan on a remote basis.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify priority growth areas and develop business plans with Head of APAC
  • Develop commercial business cases to support growth initiatives
  • Act as first point of contact for new potential clients
  • Conduct research on organisations and individuals to identify new growth opportunities
  • Drive growth of business in customer numbers, revenue, productivity and efficiency targets
  • Develop and maintain customer relationship strategy and plan
  • Manage transition of customer from solution proposition to operational execution

Role requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience,
  • Prior exposure in maritime industry and/or software sales highly advantageous,
  • Ability to forge new relationships, strong business acumen,
  • Excellent communication skills
