Project Manager (LCO2) – Permanent – London (Hybrid) – Excellent salary

This is an exciting new opportunity to join an international shipping company based in London. This is a very unique opportunity as these vessels are first of their kind.

The Project Manager (PM) will lead a team of engineer, marine and quality assurance superintendents to develop the management requirements and procedures for the business and bringing the vessels into service

Responsibilities include;

  • Working with snr management to develop the key activities required to bring the vessels into service meeting all the project KPI’s.
  • Pro-actively lead the team and ensure required activities are foreseen and implemented in a timely manner. Work with your team to develop operational and maintenance practices for new technology.
  • Provide project plans and timelines for specific activities. Plans shall include engineering and marine requirements, personnel, training, initial spare parts, equipment criticality and critical spares, planned maintenance requirements and fiscal studies for the project implementation and subsequent operations costs.
  • Pro-actively challenge and interrogate assumptions and perspectives of the “norm” to ensure wise decisions are employed and learnings are shared.
  • Provide feedback and progress reports to snr management and commercial as required on project costings and progress
  • Liaise with stakeholders such as shipyards, vessels, commercial, marine teams and other associated teams to provide the feedback of required data such as costings, impact, progress, manpower requirements, technical scope and any other specific project deliverables.

Experience Required:

  • Engineering Class I or II Motor.
  • Or Electrical / Electronic engineering degree or HNC minimum with suitable demonstration of sea time 10+ years vessel sailing experience, significant dockings, previous TSI experience 2+ years including vessel maintenance and project management.
  • Significant project management and experience of direct reports and fiscal accountability, newbuild design, construction. Deliveries of new vessels and the activities/processes associated with that activity
  • Experience of leading diverse teams in a global environment
  • Management experience of marine assets
  • Knowledge of MEGI vessel types (Desirable)
  • Must have right to work in the UK
