Business Unit Harbour Towage
The Business Unit Harbour Towage delivers towage services in the Ports of Rotterdam, Hamburg, Bremerhaven, Wilhelmshaven and London. For our fleet in London we are looking for a new colleague:
CHIEF ENGINEER (PORT OF LONDON)
Responsibilities
As chief engineer you will be responsible for the availability of the technical equipment to carry out the work in a safe and efficient manner. These activities include:
- Maintenance and repairs to technical installations in accordance with PMS and company standards.
- Operation of the winch whilst towing and to assist on deck when mooring.
- Overseeing the correct and efficient use of technical supplies, spare parts, fuel and lubricants on board.
- Responsible for the technical equipment and resources needed for life and work on board.
- Monitor the performance of work where necessary.
- Prioritize safety at work, and contribute to maintaining and improving safety standards.
- Participate in safety and security exercises.
- Responsible for the administration and reports related to the technical department.
Job profile
- Valid minimum STCW certification as chief engineer> 3000 KW
- Experience in the position of chief engineer of similar scope
- Valid relevant STCW short course certification and ENG 1
- English spoken and written and knowledge of a second European language preferable
- Valid working permits for the EU
- Preferably living in the UK
