The Captain Paul Watson Foundation is a newly formed non-profit dedicated to ocean conservation. We have our very first ship in the UK and are accepting applications for the Chief Engineer position. This is a hands-on role. You will be overseeing the dry dock period for an engine overhaul and supervising the engineering team, as well as the contractors. This role reports directly to the Director of Ship Operations. You must have excellent communication skills. The position is for three months to start and rotation will be offered to the right candidate. Start date: mid-February, 2023. 

  • Proven experience in dry dock
  • 3+ years experience in the commercial sector
  • Be comfortable with all aspects of engine room management and leading a team  of five
  • Training "green" engineers
  • This is a hands-on role
  • Be ok with a vegan food policy while on board the ship

Language Requirements

Good knowledge of the English language is required.

Certificates and Qualifications

Mandatory STCW certificates are required from all applicants.
