1st Engineer Officer (Cruise) – Worldwide

Role Overview:
Lead and manage the engineering team, maintaining the main propulsion machinery and engine room auxiliaries in a safe and reliable working condition.

Primary Responsibility of the Role:

• Be the first point of contact for technical issues arising from the Watchkeepers.
• Responsible for the day to day management of junior officers, technicians, fitters and ratings
• Ensure planned and preventative maintenance and testing of all engine room plant on board the vessel.
• Plan and monitor work schedules to ensure all work is carried out safely, efficiently and in accordance with all current safety and company regulations.
• Complete accurate maintenance and equipment records taking any relevant corrective action identified.

Person Specification:

• A completed Marine Engineering Cadetship with at least a HND or Foundation Degree
• Senior OOW (Second Engineer) Unlimited Certificate of Competency (CoC) – STCW Reg III/2
• Good command of written and spoken English
• STCW Basic Training certificates, as well as Advanced Fire Fighting and Medical First Aid
• STCW Survival Craft and Rescue Boat other than Fast Rescue Boat certificate
• High Voltage Management Certificate
