Seaworthy Consulting are looking for a Technical Superintendent to work for a Maritime company with a mixed fleet located in Scotland. The candidate would be responsible for the operational and technical management of the workboat fleet. Would require an excellent multi-tasker, thrives in a dynamic environment and always seeking for continual improvement/development.

Previous seagoing experience as an Engineering Officer, and/or vessel/fleet management experience. If you do not live local, must be willing to relocate for role. Great opportunity for someone wanting a shoreside career, previous experience in such role not required. Client would not consider candidates located outside UK.

Key requirements

  • Project management, including but not limited to Plan, budget, organise, direct and control tasks, people and resources to meet changing operational and technical demands
  • Plan and manage dry docking process, would also be required to plan and implement system of vessel inspections and audits
  • Support and liaise with Compliance department to ensure Safety Management System adherence
  • Provide advice and guidance on operational and technical matters to crew, senior management, clients and third parties as required
  • Responsible for safe and cost effective operational and technical management of vessels
  • Optimise the application of existing and emerging technology to increase vessel and equipment reliability and performance
  • Control and manage all maintenance and modification engineering activities
  • International travel and some on call work
  • Ensure vessels' operational status is maintained and meets standards required by statutory and classification bodies at all times

Qualifications

  • Hold Maritime Engineer Certificate of Competency
  • Knowledge of systems such as SOLAS, MLC, Flag State and Classification Society regs etc
  • Good IT skills, with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Excellent level of English verbal and written
