One of our leading Marine clients are currently looking for Group Training Superintendent to join their team, to be working from the head office in Harbour Dr, Singapore. This client is a well-established company currently employing an excess of 1500 crew and staff worldwide, responsible for a diverse fleet of over 100 vessels in total.
The goal of the role is to perform simulator and on-board command assessments, perform site and client-specific training as well as recruit Senior Officers for the appointment purposes as well as raising the quality standards of the crew once they're all appointed. This role is home-based and involves extensive travel internationally, on a rotation basis of 8 weeks on and 4 weeks off.
The Group Training Superintendent will report to the Group Crewing Manager who will be based in Singapore.
Duties:
- Support and consult in the selection of qualified Senior Officers.
- Take part in the development and execution of simulator assessments, for the key crew on deck to ensure and boost the needed performance - using our client's own in-house simulator in Singapore, or alternative outsourced simulators approved by our client.
- Commit to the training and induction of the senior crew, as per our client's safety management system to ensure zero accidents or incidents by improving knowledge and skillsets.
- Deliver annual training plans for command assessments, as well as consult and report on training and development requirements.
- Evaluate, enhance, develop as well as implement assessment & training programs for senior crew.
- Manage our client's 'Emergency Response Training for LNG Support craft' training and provide the training both internally and externally.
- Consistently collect feedback from internal and external customers, as well as improve and update the training plan accordingly.
- Consult on subject matter using your expertise, to the contract locations, as well as the head office with regards to towing related matters such as tow gear selection, procedure reviewing as well as proposing the best practice methods.
- Observe the high performers amongst the crew and propose them a promotion or a COC-upgrading sponsorship program.
- Perform vessel audits as defined in our client's SMS related to ISO, ISM and any other relevant regulations.
- Provide reports on vessel and crew performance as requested.
- Conduct fleet visits with the goal of obtaining information and experience that will later be used to plan training.
- Attend any new contract start up projects in order to support, train and advise Crew and Local Manament on the best practice vessel operations.
Requirements:
- Dual purpose COC - Maritime Officer (Maroff) Certificate
- Extensive experience as a Master / CE in harbor and offshore towage as well as experience with AHTS.
- In depth knowledge of Marine Terminal Operations.
- Minimum of 4 years' experience in the same or comparable position, with Train-the-trainer qualifications or suitable relevant experience.
- Fluent in English
