Principal Risk Specialist – Maritime Safety and Predictive risk Software – THIS IS NOT A FINANCIAL RISK ROLE

The client –

An independant shipping risk management company which has been in the market for four years making big strides in the industry. Due to their colaborations they have access to tons of data which they place into predictive analitical models.

The role –

Main purpose will be to develop and implement models for risk analysis of shipping operations using hazard identification output together with extensive historical incedent data. Other tasks will include validating and reviwing existing models to improve their performance, assist customers and colleague in understanding model outputs, and work across different functions in the business

The person –

• Degree or equivalent in engineering or physical science i.e. chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, applied mathemantics or statistics.
• Good understanding and application of risk assesment in or or more high-hazard industries.
• Experience in development of quatitative risk assessment models from first principles.
• Knowledge of the shipping industry would be a huge advantage.
