Temp 3rd Engineer (Cruise) – Worldwide

Role Summary:
Work within the Engineering team, carrying out watch-keeping duties and maintaining all engine room plant onboard in order to maximise the operational safety and efficiency of the vessel.

Primary Responsibility of the Role:

• Carry out full and comprehensive watch-keeping rounds.
• Follow work schedules and undertake preventative and planned maintenance to ensure continued and uninterrupted service on engine room plant.
• Troubleshoot problems and complete repairs promptly and report any faults for further investigation.
• Actively work with the team to increase own knowledge on critical systems.
• Establish good situational awareness through receiving and delivering good quality handover information at watch change.
• Supervise Cadets and Technicians to ensure tasks are undertaken safely and in accordance with all current safety and company regulations.
• Attend corporate sponsored social events as requested as a member of the Engineering Team.

Person Specification:

• OOW Unlimited Certificate of Competency (CoC) – STCW Reg III/1
• Good command of written and spoken English
• STCW Basic Training certificates, as well as Advanced Fire Fighting and Medical First Aid
• STCW Survival Craft and Rescue Boat other than Fast Rescue Boat certificate
• High Voltage Operational Certificate
