Head of Dry-Docking – Permanent – Glasgow – £70k plus benefits

This is an excellent opportunity to join a global ship management company based in Glasgow

As Head of Dry Docking you will be joining a newly formed Dry Dock team and manage a small core team focused on the Dry Docking of managed assets.

Responsibilities include:

• Manage the core Dry docking function in accordance with agreed objectives and in accordance with agreed KPIS
• Deliver scheduled and emergency dry docking projects, On Spec On Budget and in Time.
• Deliver vessel takeover projects.
• Deliver incident investigations.
• Deliver technical support to all applicable technical projects.
• Deliver vessel lay-up projects.
• Assisting Group Technical in Defining policies, procedures and standards and the practical application of such standards across the Group.

Experience Required:

• Experienced in managing a core function.
• Extensive technical experience in managing dry dockings and large repairs. A minimum of 25 to 50 executed dry dockings is the envisaged level of experience with a variety of ship types.
• Proven experience in Specification writing and review.
• Proven experience in Project Management and cost control execution.
• Proven experience of Dry Dock tender analysis and final invoice negotiation.
• Graduate Engineer with Ship Repair experience or Qualified as a Chief Engineer with proven operational exposure.
