Snr Manager, Hotel Services (Environment) – Permanent – Southampton – Competitive package

This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading Cruise company based in Southampton. The role is permanent, based in Southampton but offers hybrid working (2 days in office, 3 at home)

The Senior Manager, Hotel Services (Environment) is an exciting and varied role that will take on the challenge of continuing to implement our sustainability programme and look for further opportunities to ensure our Environmental challenges are met and exceeded across the hotel areas within the Fleet.

Responsibilities include:

  • Continue to manage effective implementation of environmental and sustainability targets and (Hotel) actions
  • Responsible for ongoing maintenance and improvement of all aspects of environmental processes and procedures across the Hotel Operation
  • Lead a specialist team of Hotel Services Managers onboard to operationalise the Hotel Environmental Programme and enable delivery of the Environmental commitment across the end-to-end guest experience
  • Engage with key stakeholders regarding Environmental Governance, external regulators, Risk Advisory & Assurance Services (RAAS) and shipboard management.
  • Work closely with the Safety & Environmental Director to develop and implement a wide range of procedures, standards, training, engagement, and culture change programmes.
  • Lead Hotel interface across: Public Heath, Environmental officers, Brand and Product Development, Procurement (SUP, Food Waste, Cabin Amenities) in parallel to reviewing operational process across hotel functions (F&B – Galley processes and procedures, food waste management, supply chain and hotel audit and Housekeeping)

There will also be some travel to the ships as you implement initiatives and new programmes on board.

Experience Required:

  • Passion for the Environment and sustainability, and be able to channel that energy into ensuring our commitments to our Guests and Hotel Standards are delivered
  • Be able to effectively engage with key stakeholders whilst putting the Environment and our Guests at the heart of any solutions delivered
  • Concise and clear communication skills
  • Team management experience, and an understand how to bring teams on the journey
  • Environmental and sustainable knowledge or experience from within the hospitality, travel, galley, or cruise ship industries, preferably.
