Vessel Performance Services Insights Lead – Permanent – Glasgow/London/Southampton

So what’s job?

As an Insights Lead for the Vessel Performance Services you will be central to introducing data analytics to their digital platform and translating theses insights into a valuable user experience, maximizing vessel operational performance, allowing their Clients to realize the full value of their asset. You will also aid in the development and realization of Big Data opportunities with the internal database.

Responsibilities of the role

• Act as Team Leader / Focal point for Insights Performance Services
• Provide expert advice and guidance in the development of the Performance Services offering and associated business opportunities
• Provide guidance, oversight and advice to the Data Science Team as required
• Working with the Data Science Team, mine and analyse data from within our various databases to support the development and optimization of analytics capabilities within the Performance Services.
• Working with Integration Lead (Shipboard IOT) develop integrated Performance Solutions maximizing benefits from automated data capture
• To identify energy saving and performance optimization opportunities
• To understand the opportunities available for cost reductions and their associated return on investment

Requirements

• Minimum qualification of a BSc. in a Marine related field.
• Previous experience of vessel operations or vessel performance optimization
• A good understanding of benefit measurement, data collection and management will be a strong advantage
• Interest in vessel performance and drive to realize optimization benefits
• Exposure to reporting suites such as SSRS, PowerBi, Business Objects would be helpful.
• Ability to be self motivate for planning and executing tasks and projects.
• Willing to travel in support of business requirements.
