Mechanical Design Engineer (Marine)- Permanent- Liverpool- Competitive Salary

Navis Consulting have an opportunity for an individual with a passion for design with acute detail to develop in the defense sector. This role is aimed at an individual wanting to develop further in their career and grow their skill set working on design tasks for a range of engineering aspects for the manufacturing of inflatable RIBs. You will become a multi-skilled marine design engineer covering a variety of small vessel designs. You will be support by the rest of the design team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Understanding of the company’s technology and products keeping up to date with marine engineering technologies production techniques
• Interpret sales briefings and technical specifications
• Design and develop high quality innovative products to meet customer and commercial requirements
• Working closely with departments such as naval architects, project engineers, workshop personnel and engineers
• Producing maintaining accurate technical drawings and documentation of new and existing products lines inline with European and British standards
• Producing technical report in support of your work
• Understanding of drawing and document control and revision procedures
• Developing composite, machined, sheet metal and welded fabrications in line with the abilities of our fabricators.
• Keeping up to date with contractors work against the project requirements and provide feedback
• Working to maintain H&S and Quality standards

Experience required:

• Ideally have design engineering experience within a marine, automotive or similar industry
• Experience of Solidworks CAD software or experience with certain similar 3D modelling packages within a commercial role may be acceptable
• High focused and attention to detail
• Previous experience working on defense projects would be an advantage
• Full clean valid driving license
• Employment security screening will be required due to defense nature of projects
