Technical Author (Marine)- Permanent- Peterborough- £40,000

Navis Consulting have an opportunity for an individual with a passion for writing with acute detail and to develop manuals for the design and engineering team. This role is aimed at an individual wanting to develop further in their career and grow their skill set working on range of tasks to develop these large structures. You will be supported and working alongside other departments to gain knowledge of the marine sector.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create high quality internal & external documentation
• Writing, editing and proofreading text
• Create and edit pictures and diagrams and verifying information
• Liaising with other staff/departments to obtain a depth understanding of the product and documentation required
• Producing and maintaining owners manuals
• Producing and maintaining manufacturing standards
• Making sure the whole process is captured and documented through video/photos
• Attending meetings and undertaking any additional tasks that may be required
• Stick to schedules and comply with company policies and procedures

Experience required:

• Eye for detail and technical knowledge in technical systems and processes
• Clear and concise writing style
• Good command of grammar and vocabulary with strong ability to articulate meaning
• God documentation skills and ability to produce visually attractive instructions
• An ability to grasp and structure large amounts of information and anticipate readers knowledge gaps with the ability to stick to tight schedules
• Computer literate
• Previous experience in a similar role (examples would be an advantage)
• A degree or higher education qualification in technical or scientific subject would be beneficial
