Stores Person (Marine)- Permanent- Berinsfield- £23,000 to £24,000 p.a.

We are currently looking for a Stores person to work within a dedicated and expert team in Oxfordshire. Candidates should be willing to learn and grow within the organisation. This is a position based on development and progression, with goal of replacing the Stores Manager in the the future. They must be forklift certified and have a drive to expand their knowledge and have a clear, structured mindset for organisation.

The Stores Person reports to the Stores Manager and is responsible for aiding in the timely receipt, issue and management of materials in support of Production targets. The appointee is also supporting so that all stock being held in a usable and secure state adopting good housekeeping practices. They help manage the Goods inwards, Stores and Stock Control functions and are responsible for the accurate receipt of raw materials and finished products, including quantity and quality. In the event of rejects, liaison with the company’s vendors and produce the relevant documentation.

The role includes:
* Proper location and storage of all incoming material and finished products.
* Responsible for the preparation, accuracy and issue of kits to the production line in support of the Production Schedule.
* Helping the continuous audit of all stock by periodic cycle counting.
* Maintain raw material stores and goods inwards/dispatch area in a clean and tidy state.
* Highlight any stock irregularities including slow moving / obsolescence to the Store Manager.
* Responsible for materials handling equipment within the Stores performing regular checks.
* Responsible for the security of goods inwards and stores.
* Undertakes problem solving and other tasks as directed by the Stores Manager. * Trains staff when necessary.
* Ensures strict adherence and implementation of FIFO. Paying particular attention to the product life cycle by rotation of battery products, adhesives and general consumable.
* Operates in accordance with the company’s Health and Safety procedure, and other related company policies.
* Responsible for the management and welfare of all reporting staff include engagement, discipline and appraising.
* Attendance of meetings as and when required.

The appointee must be computer literate and be able to use Excel, Word, etc with experience of using a MRP/ERP system advantageous and have the ability to communicate at all levels within the organisation. Educated to GCSE standard in English and Maths. Good level of spoken English.

The candidate must have experience of stockroom procedures, preferably gained in a manufacturing environment. An appointee must be forklift certified. Individuals must be of good health and be able to lift weights up to the maximum limit as defined by the Health & Safety Executive.
