Water Network Specialist – Permanent – Kent
As a Water Network Specialist you would be responsible for developing and delivering water utilities related projects and maintenance works The expected work profile is approximately 60% water, 20% Sewerage, 20% Drainage but this may vary as capital improvement plans are developed. The post holder will be required to attend the Port outside normal working hours to manage emergency water incidents (as and when required).
The Port has several water distribution systems, service reservoirs, a boosted drinking water system, seawater firefighting mains and pumping stations, sewerage pumping stations and surface water drainage assets. You will play a key role in developing the Port’s rehabilitation and renewal programme for its water related assets.
The successful candidate will have:
- IEng or CEng desirable. BSc/BEng or above in an appropriate technical discipline and a minimum of 5 years experience of managing and delivering water projects. Alternatively, you may have a relevant HND with substantive, project, operational and supervisory experience in the water industry.
- Knowledge and experience of applying the UK Water Principles of Water Hygiene and disinfection procedures.
- Knowledge and experience of the application of the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999 and other water industry standards and specifications, Water Quality Risk Assessments and Water Safety Plans.
- Able to develop and write Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions
- A demonstratable understanding of current CDM Regulations and relevant Health & Safety legislation/guidance
- Knowledge and experience of NEC ECC Contracts (desirable)
- Good used of Microsoft Office 365
- Must hold a valid UK driving licence and use of own vehicle
- There will also e a requirement to work within confined spaces
