Plant Maintenance Engineer – Permanent – Aberdeenshire

As a Plant Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for being a vital member of a team, providing maintenance for a range of port buildings and assets such as, cranes, roll-on/roll-off facilities, pilot cutters and workboat, mobile conveyors and hoppers, generators, small plant, tools, vehicles etc, whilst also adhering to the Board’s Health, Safety and Environmental Policy. You will be required to operate the Port’s vehicles and operating plant for some tasks.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Previous experience maintaining and operating mechanical equipment.
  • Hydraulic fault finding and servicing.
  • Diesel engine experience.
  • Strong fault-finding skills essential.
  • Able to read and understand schematics – mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic.
  • A keen desire to learn and develop within the port environment.
  • Desire to develop relevant knowledge and skills.
  • A proactive approach to health and safety.
  • Proactive attitude with a strong work ethic.
  • Be available for on call out of hours reactive maintenance.
  • Be able to work outdoors in adverse conditions.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Suitable qualifications in mechanical engineering.
  • Pneumatic and hydraulic experience.
  • UK Driving licence.
  • Marine experience.
